アルバート・アインシュタイン

アルバート・アインシュタイン（1879–1955）は、20世紀を代表する物理学者で、相対性理論の提唱者として知られます。ドイツ生まれで、1905年の「奇跡の年」に特殊相対性理論を発表し、光速度不変や質量とエネルギーの等価性（E＝mc²）を示しました。その後の一般相対性理論は重力を時空の曲がりとして説明し、宇宙観を根本から変革しました。1921年には光電効果の研究によりノーベル物理学賞を受賞。ユダヤ人であったためナチスから逃れ米国に移住し、プリンストン高等研究所で研究を続けました。平和主義者としても知られ、核兵器の危険性を訴え続けました。
